“Wait! I’m- I’m not a bounty hunter! I’m not hunting you! Hell, I don’t even know your last name!”Her hands shot up in defence. His jaw was clenched so tight his teeth were hurting. She now had the ordacity to change her story?! She was unbelievable, the concern for her own life was making her seem sincere, but he knew it was an act. She was simply fluttering her eyelashes again. Buying herself some time for her to get the gun back. "I'm not gonna let you." he answered his own thoughts, "You're not taking me in." “I-I wish I could explain this all to you but… you wouldn’t understand.”So she had a gun to her head and she still wouldn't explain. "Oh you're something else." he muttered viciously, "No wonder you tracked me this far." He knew he couldn't let her continue. Every second she was still breathing was a chance she could manipulate him. His fingers tigthened on the weapon. Ever muscle in his hand tensed. All, that is, except for his trigger finger, which loosely teased the hairline trigger with minimal pressure. She was already getting to him. Her eyes...he was already losing faith in his ability to close them forever. He blinked rather dramatically as a single bead of sweat ran down his forehead, getting lost in his eyebrow. “I think you miss understood me. I wasn’t going to turn you in! Really, I swear. I’m…”SHOOT HER!!!“I am not a bounty hunter.”His shoulders slumped as though he released a weight he was carrying and he breathed heavily through his nostrils. "Then what are you?" he asked hoarsely, the gun still trained on her, knowing whatever she was, it couldn't be much worse.

"Then what are you?"Rocky pressed her lips, brows knitting in thought and every instinct was telling her to go on and tell him though she also cared about what he would think. Knowing she was a hunter, he’d think she was insane. But dying wasn’t worth keeping the secret of being a hunter, even though it wasn’t the easiest thing to let a complete stranger be away of. Still holding her hands up to stop him, she nervously let out, “I’m a hunter!” It was all or nothing at this point; since he would pull the trigger if she didn’t tell him. Rocky just eyed him, getting her breathing to calm down and knew he wouldn’t quite understand and perhaps if she put it into different terms, it wouldn’t sound as psychotic. “I’m… a supernatural hunter. A paranormal investigator?” She asked, raising her brow trying to see if he understood before further saying, “Like, the ones you watch on TV except… they’re not always ghosts and we use guns…” As Rocky thought over what she was saying and how he would take it, eyeing him and the gun both, after hearing it all out loud she did think she was crazy. He would never believe her; not in a million years though he didn’t have to believe her. All he had to do was lower the gun and step out of the car.

“I’m a hunter!”And now she was again. Was she uncertain about it? Did she not know that she reeled criminals in? Her lies were clear to him; she was slipping, with a gun trained on her, all her tactics were falling apart in panic. She was losing. “I’m… a supernatural hunter. A paranormal investigator?”His eyes widened. She was like him. He blinked, indicating his sudden uncertainty. Maybe she wasn't after him all along. “Like, the ones you watch on TV except… they’re not always ghosts and we use guns…”The gun lowered a few degrees; still aimed at her, but held more limply. "You're a Ghostbuster?" he mused, playing dumb in case she was lying out of her teeth. It was strange someone would lie about something typically seen as so preposterous, but people had done stranger things when looking down the barrel of a gun. Even if she was a hunter...they were a dangerous breed too. After a beat of silence and inaction, he finally lowered his weapon fully. Still held tightly in his hand, he looked down at her. He was unsure if he owed her an apology. "So where's your jumpsuit?" he finally broke the silence.

"You're a Ghostbuster?Rocky's eyes narrowed at the man, her hands staying up but when the gun started to lower, eyes following it, she felt more relief. This wasn’t the first time she had received that term, though, following that term wasn't something she was fond of since Venkman, Stantz and Spengler probably all had it better than her. "You could say that..." She answered, her eyes locked back on to his orbs of turquoise. "So where's your jumpsuit?Sighing, Rocky finally dropped her hands into her lap, tilting her head with her sarcasmn, "Its in the back, but I doubt it'll fit you. Sorry to disappoint." She answered but realize it wasnt the best attitude to release at this point since he still had the gun in his lap. Glancing around the car though, checking if there were any faces or bobbing heads in the street, she wanted to make sure there was no witnesses. Looking to him again, nerves still on edge when eyes diverted to him again, "Um... can we leave to talk some where more private. You could keep the gun if you want but crowds just aren't my thing." Speaking over breakfast to explain herself or rather now just drop him off at his place, since he probably wouldn't want to stay with a freak anyways, she just didn't want to seem like she was still on display.

"Um... can we leave to talk some where more private. You could keep the gun if you want but crowds just aren't my thing."His flirtometer picked up no traces of hidden meaning when she mentioned going somewhere more private. Nor should it, he'd just pulled a gun on her. In fact, he'd be indebted to her now. Obviously she was hunting, and obviously that news report had something to do with what she was hunting. What he was pondering was whether the concern she had when she saw that report, was for the poor sod who died, or for the fact she'd lost her chance to kill it. On hearing the last part, about her willingness to let him keep the weapon, he allowed a weak smile. Pointing the weapon at her for a fleeting moment, he titled his hand forward, letting the gun flick forward and with a twist of his wrist, he pushed the barrel of the gun into his palm, reversing the weapon one handed so that the handle was now pointing to her. All done with one hand. "You take it." he offered, pushing his outstreched hand to her to indicate it was fine to take it, "I don't much like guns anyway. It's more dangerous to have one." Oh, he was such a hipocrit, it was by chance he didn't have one of his three guns on him; he hadn't planned to do any hunting in a long time. Why did they always follow him? Couldn't he have a break? A normal holiday like anyone else? After a long pause, he swallowed the gathering spit in his mouth and glanced over to her, "Breakfast then?" he broke the silence, uncannily cheery regarding the events that just unfolded.

Nerves were still on edge and Rocky was still wary like any normal hunter would be when they just had a gun pointed to them. Just eyeing the gun when the hand was flicked towards it, it took her a moment to allow herself to reach out and take it. Grasping the black 9mm, she looked up to Luke while tucking it in the back of her jeans. “I don't much like guns anyway. It's more dangerous to have one."Rocky let herself smile a bit at that comment when pulling the shirt over to cover the weapon. “Yeah, you sure taught me that lesson.” She said and then looked to the road again. She didn’t exactly know what to do now. It was a more delicate situation. He didn’t seem to have a problem with her being a hunter and that was strange since most normal people would be running in the other direction of the girl they thought was insane. "Breakfast then?"His mention of a meal brought her attention to him again and then set up the agenda. Though she still thought it was strange that he would do this, it seemed like he had something to hide as well. A person didn’t just hold up a bounty hunter at a point blank shot because they were afraid. Made her think twice about driving any further but then again, she wasn’t any better. Giving him a nod, she turned around in the seat to the steering wheel again and took the car out of park. Checking the usual steps, mirrors for on coming cars and such, she pulled her truck from the side of the road. Though even when doing this, she was plagued with thoughts of Luke. And although she desperately wanted to make some sort of conversation with the male, she didn’t really know what to say. Instead, she focused on the other cars on roads as she traveled towards the diner on 2nd street. Swallowing though, it was very apparent that she was still uneasy with this.

After another bout of silence, Luke looked over at her, his gaze lingering. She was scared of him. He'd just pointed a gun in her face and now here he was acting as though nothing was wrong. He blinked and shifted himself on his seat before sighing a long drawn out breath. "I'm sorry." he said finally, sounding genuine. It wasn't often he apologised, but he knew this moment called for it. "I shouldn't have reacted like that...I..." he trailed off and his gaze shifted back to the window as he closed up once more. He'd screwed things up royally. She had helped him and this was how he repaid her...by making her look down the barrel of a gun. "You'll learn pretty quickly that I'm a pain to be around." he sighed with his teeth gritted as his eyes wandered back to the glove box.

"You'll learn pretty quickly that I'm a pain to be around."It wasn’t long before Rocky took a moment to consider the logic behind Luke’s actions. Not everybody would pick up a gun to point at a girl, however, every threatened hunter would have. Looking over at him again, she offered a friendly smile. “Oh, I think I’ve found that out already,” She teased the Brit. Shaking her head, she added honestly as she situated herself in the seat, “Don’t beat yourself up over it. I would have probably done the same thing in your place.” Slowing down the car as she approached the diner on 2nd street, eyes had searched for a parking spot before pulling into a free space. Stopping the car completely, she twisted the keys out of the ignition. Digits pushed the metal back into her pocket and then opened the squeaky rustic door. Walking around the car again, she realized that after what had just happened between Luke and her, she didn’t feel completely comfortable with making him pay for their breakfast. Hands tucked in her back pockets as she sighed, looking at the diner, her upper body pivoted to look back at him. “Uh, I just want you to know that I don’t usually let somebody else pay for my things,” She stated as he came out of the truck and approached the diner with him. Walking side by side, she varied her sight from down to the floor to back up at him as she spoke. “Mind if we go dutch on this one?” She asked. Though she didn’t want him to pay fully for her, they could at least split it.

“Don’t beat yourself up over it. I would have probably done the same thing in your place.”Luke smiled weakly at her attempt to cheer him up. Sighing he looked down to the floor and didn't look up until he had finished speaking, "And you'd have done me a kindness if you pulled the trigger." he replied, finally looking up, his eyes squinting and his teeth clenching against the sunshine glaring through the windscreen, the brightness and heat more acute, as his gaze took in the familiar sight of the diner. “Uh, I just want you to know that I don’t usually let somebody else pay for my things, mind if we go dutch on this one?”"Well I wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I let you get away with that." he said in a matter-of-factly way as he bowed slightly, leaning towards her. Reaching for his wallet in his back pocket he tugged on it sharply to pull it out, and along with it, a folded up piece of paper fell out. Noticing it float to the ground in front of him, he put his foot on it to prevent it becoming a victim to the breeze. Bending down, he scooped it up and stood up, opening it up close to his waist as he looked down at the family photo; a man, a woman, and a little girl. He looked down at it with depression as a wave of sadness and reality hit him Slowly, and sombrely, he folded it back up again. Carefully. Making sure he folded it at the fold lines as he gingerly slipped it back in his pocket. Coming out of his spell, he looked over to Rocky and smiled faintly again out of politeness. "Halfers it is then." he grinned as he hopped up the two steps and opened the door for her, ushering her through with his wallet ready in his hand.

"Halfers it is then."Giving off a friendly smile and nod, hands wedged into the back pockets of her jeans as she followed after the Brit. Entering as he held the door for her, she assumed the friendly position again even after what had just taken place. The diner they had entered was nothing special; Rocky had visited hundreds of other places across the country with the same motif and atmosphere. Wooden podium stood as Rocky approached along with another well-dressed women greeting her. Laced with a few friendly smiles and phrases tossed to the other, Rocky asked for a booth to sit both her and her new found friend. Walking through the aisles of tables and customers sitting, form followed their hostess to their designated table where she slid on the cushioned chair across from Luke. She eyed the menu that was placed on the table and an awkward feeling stirred in her. Taking the menu, comfort still wasn’t found due to the fact that acting like everything was normal wasn’t right. She had just dodged a bullet, not only quite literally but she could have ended up in jail. She figured some words should be shared concerning the issue. Glancing up from the plastic covered with various meals, she looked up at the stranger’s baby blues. “Uh, I’m sorry to dwell on sore subjects but… why did you let me go before?” She asked softly, leaning over the table a bit. It wasn’t everyday where she would meet somebody willing to believe she was a supernatural hunter, let alone still hang around with the hunter. "I mean, you seemed pretty set in your decision to kill me back there." There was still the probability that he was a investigator himself, considering he had knowledge of how to use a semi-automatic weapon but they didn’t really confirm anything yet.

Luke followed Rocky, she was used to eating in diners. To hunters, this was as close to dining on fine cuisine they'd ever get. In fact, a breakfast which wasn't a cereal bar could constitute as a luxury. Slipping down opposite her, he eyed her warily, the events leading up to this still fresh in his mind. Hell of a first date this had been...so far, he'd attempted to shoot her, he'd walked in naked on her, and he was pretty sure he had kissed her the night before. “Uh, I’m sorry to dwell on sore subjects but… why did you let me go before? I mean, you seemed pretty set in your decision to kill me back there."Eyes hounded on hers as he considered the question. She didn't much cut to the chase. "I guess...I guess, uh," he sure wasn't going to tell her the real reason. The fact he may have a thing for her was pushed to the back of his mind as he tried to answer the question. At least he'd have to answer with some honesty; there was no denying she was a hunter; fake IDs, secondary in the glove box. No doubt there'd be a dozen more killing utencils in the boot of the car. "Maybe I've seen a ghost." he said abiguously. "Maybe I know there's things out there, in kids' wardrobes and under beds...things parents say aren't real. And maybe I know there are hunters out there who cull their numbers." his eyes bore into hers with meaning, reaching a connection with her in her emerald orbs, avoiding the sheer awe he felt with them and hitting the truth, "Maybe I'm one of them." His eyes finally disconnected, looking away down at the salt and pepper shakers.

"Maybe I've seen a ghost. Maybe I know there's things out there, in kids' wardrobes and under beds...things parents say aren't real. And maybe I know there are hunters out there who cull their numbers."Rocky’s eyes still were locked on to his, lips still slightly parting but she was focused on Luke still. Yet, although she might have been focused on him, it took her a few moments to actually process what he was saying; just somewhat distracted by him. But even taking it all in, she was still perplexed by the statement. How could a civilian know anything about the supernatural and their hunters? She was still suspicious of Luke not being just a civilian but the odds of him really knowing rather than just being crazy enough to believe it were against that. "Maybe I'm one of them."Luke had finally made it clear to her yet still, she couldn’t believe it. Brows knitted together and gap between her pink lips grew as she watched him and when the thought of her needing to respond came to her, she tilted her head a bit. And although this was probably good news for Rocky, considering she would have help now, she still seemed hurt or betrayed. “Y-You’re… a hunter?” She asked. Shaking her head, she chuckled as she looked away, bringing knuckles and fingertips to run over her lips in thought. Figures that it would be at the hands of another hunter where she was held up at gunpoint. Now she knew why he was able to handle a weapon. Now she knew how he was able to fight last night. And conning people like he did with her last night? Only a hunter would know how to use a being to their advantage like that. Looking back to him, she dropped her hand as she leaned weight on both of her elbows on the table. “So, what? Last night you would have been able to take care of yourself. This was just a way to get a free room or something?” She asked. Just because they were both hunters didn’t mean they had something in common. And if they did, that just gives her more of a reason not to trust him. Much like she didn’t trust him now.

Luke could tell she had trouble believing it. He suddenly felt a little self conscious; what was so ludicrous about him being a hunter? Did he have something stuck in his teeth? Something about him which made his story sound more unbelievable? He already knew with no doubts that she was a hunter, so he was fairly certain he hadn't just made himself look like a crazy person in front of a regular girl. “Y-You’re… a hunter?”Luke winced. Hearing her hurt tone was like nails on a blackboard. Sighing deeply, he wiped his eye while nodding slowly. “So, what? Last night you would have been able to take care of yourself. This was just a way to get a free room or something?”"Noo." he replied, leaning his elbows on the table in front of him. "It was a way to get to know you." The small smile on his face barely curved the corners of his lips upwards, but it was there, and it was genuine. After a beat, Luke pushed his elbows off the table and leaned back in his seat, under the impression leaving it at that wouldn't be acceptable. "OK, before we start mumbling on about past hunts like grampas and their war stories; one question that's been circling my mind is what are you doing here? It usually isn't coincidence when I bump into others hunters, so I'll assume you're on the job. What are you hunting?" Before Rocky had a chance to answer however, the waitress had approached them once again, notepad clutched close to her chest as she greeted both of them with a warm toothy grin. "Have you decided on your order?" she asked with ditzy enthusiasm.

" ...It usually isn't coincidence when I bump into others hunters, so I'll assume you're on the job. What are you hunting?"During Rocky’s life, she has seen things normal people never saw and should never have to see. However, that didn’t help her lose the betrayed look on her face like she wasn’t able to comprehend Luke’s words. Shaking her head to jade her current thoughts, she looked back to him. “Uh, yeah I’m on a job,” And although he had lied to her, Rocky couldn’t help but consider Luke’s help with this hunt. With past experience though, she didn’t think it would be the best idea if he tagged along. Bringing her hands from the table to run them nervously over her denim covered thighs, she stared down at them. “Well, the reason why I was at the bar last night was beca-“ She was then interrupted by the blonde waitress approaching. Green orbs scanned over her. Noticing that she was just an oblivious teen that probably wouldn’t know what they were talking about if they continued their discussion. "Have you decided on your order?"Being more intelligent even if she was peeved, she gave a nod of agreement. Still starving, Rocky didn’t allow this situation to cause her to lose her appetite. Opening the menu again, she just read off the first thing she saw. “Yeah can I get… scrambled eggs, bacon and hash-browns with a side order of pancakes.” She stated before looking up to see the waitress copying down every food item. Not giving a second thought to the amount of food she ordered, considering she had agreed to pay for her food, she looked up at Luke and perked up her brows to signal him to go.

“Yeah can I get… scrambled eggs, bacon and hash-browns with a side order of pancakes.”Luke frowned as he tilted his head, a smirk on his lips as eyes probed her symmetrical features. Someone was hungry. Thank God she had convinced him he wasn't paying for it all. A delayed response as he continued to consider her, he only spoke out once her eyebrows raised expectantly. Eyes pulling away from the brunette and up to the blonde, he answered politely with his usual English charm, "Scrambled eggs and bacon, please." his head inclined with the smile, "And some tea? Please?" The waitress nodded, her eyes studying her notepad before smiling warmly at the both of them. "Your meals will be with you shortly." the line was wooden and sounded as though she had rehearsed it and repeated it a million times. Only until he was sure she was out of earshot did Luke lean closer over the table, "You know, some of us have to actually watch what we eat." he grinned as he pulled back, leaning comfortably in his seat, "Lucky you have high metabolism." he had to admit that comment was primarily to give him an excuse to let his eyes wander; orbs subtly taking into account her slim frame and curiously muscular arms, making sure his eyes flicked back up to her own before they seemed too obvious. Coughing, he sniffed as he broke away his gaze, glancing back down to the salt and pepper shakers; his current distraction from Rocky. "So, you were saying what you were doing last night at the bar. I'll take it you weren't stripping." he asked seriously as he attempted to rekindle their conversation. He was itching for a job; anything, even if it wasn't demon related. Real life and booze had interrupted his routines lately, and maybe this was his chance to get back on track.
