(don't worry, you don'thave to use your icons. I've just done it on other forums for awhile now) Tyler Sosa sat at the end of the bar, slowly nursing the same beer he had an hour ago. He was less interested in it and more interested in the newspaper article he was reading. The town had only been his place of residence for the last few days and now he was sure he knew what he was after. It had been awhile since he hunted a ghoul. Two years to be exact. They may be dangerous, but human deaths caused by them were rare. So they didn't get much attention from the hunting community. Hazel eyes moved as he re-read every line. Long legs clad in jeans low on the waist, with a few fraying holes, were stretched out as he half slouched. 'Relaxed' would have be the best describing word. He wore a red, long sleeve shirt with a white tee over it. The logo on the white was for the Red Cross. Both shirt were untucked, except for the front where they were pinned behind his Texas long horn buckle. The last item to complete that look was the silver Ankh hanging over his chest.

(I'm actually starting to get into using my icons. I might run out, though...) Tonight was another one of "those nights" for Roxanne Ryan. Man after man had approached her with cheap, never-going-to-get-you-anywhere pick up lines while she was trying to work on a gig in yet another random town. Of course she would be out of the town in a week or less, and it wouldn't really make a difference if she decided to hook up with a decent guy. The problem was that tonight she just felt like leaving the opposite sex to themselves, and get some work done. The brunette went by Roxy rather than Roxanne. She was sitting at a table for two near the end of the bar. The other seat was occupied was a man who looked to be in his late twenties or mid thirties. He was rambling on and on about how much of a "bad person" his ex was. Roxy wondered why he seemed to have trouble saying the word "bitch". Maybe he's a Christian boy she thought to herself. Either way, Roxy looked from the newspaper clipping to John and frowned slightly. "Mi no hablo ingles." the brunette said with a small shrug. She knew that it wasn't the easiest way to get John to go away, but Roxy didn't feel like playing high school guidance councelor tonight. Once the man had left, Roxy sighed heavilly and stretched jean covered legs, placing them confortably on the free chair in front of her. She slid her slouching form up so she was sitting straight in the chair, and fixed the colar of her signature jean jacket. Brushing the hair out of her light brown eyes, Roxy looked down at the newspaper clipping that had the story of what seemed like a likely ghoul killing. It being her first night in town, Roxy hadn't exactly had a chance to do her homework, and really didn't feel in the mood to start. Roxy Ryan knew that she had to work first and play later, and working first was what she had her mind set on.

Tyler's eyes dropped away from the paper. He'd been so tired of working. All the information he need was already noted in the spiral and stashed in his folder. So why was he wasting time, at a bar, reading the paper. Glancing down, he looked at the three napkins with numbers on them. A smile crept to his lips as he rested his fist against them. Tiffany, Cherry and Mikayla. For some reason, he was heavily thinking about calling one of them tonight. What was the problem with having a little fun? Reaching for his beer, he took another drink and gaze around bar. That's when both orbs settled on the brunette nearby. She was pretty. Scratch that. Goregous in the unadorned way. There was no heavy make up on her face, no low cut, tight clothing. She was the real deal. How could he pass up such an oppurtunity? But then his eyes saw the paper and he glanced to his. The same freakin one... He looked back at her. Reading papers in a bar was not a common trait amoung the young folk. This wasn't some 'Cafe Latte' joint. Still, he was more interested in her look than her choice of reading materials. Grabbing the older backpack, he stuff everything in it and walked over to her table. "Careful, people might get the suspicion you don't want to talk to them." He stated, pointing at her paper. Turning the chair around, he sat down in it, arms folded over it's back. "And this is a bar. Everyone wants to talk in a bar. Or at least just move their lips to some degree." He flashed her a smile and went right to it. "I'm Tyler. See? My lips are moving."

Roxy was just about to slip the newspaper article back into her backpack, when yet, another man had approached her. This one, though, took a seat without even introducing himself first. Roxy couldn't help but wonder whether this was a sign of a great guy with complete confidence, or an overconfident ass. Either way, she knew that she should give him a little time of day. Who knows? Maybe it would be worth her while. The first thing that Roxy noticed about the man was his hazel eyes. She couldn't help but keep gazing into them. Once their eyes met, Roxy kept the gaze for a few seconds before looking down at the clipping. For a second there, she could have sworn she felt her cheeks warm up. Was it a blush? Was Roxy Ryan actually blushing? No, she didn't do that. She laughed and shook her head slightly. "Good point." Roxy said as she looked at him again. "What can I say? I'm a newspaper junkie." she said with a smirk that sooned turned into smile. "Wow. You're one full step of the others. You got in your spoiler and your introduction. I'm impressed." Roxy said as she tilted her head to the side a bit. After he introduced himself, Roxy decided to do the same. "I'm Roxy." the brunette said to Tyler, not using an alias for the first time tonight.

Tyler couldn't help but hide the smirk. He noticed her staring right at him and he had no problem returning the stare. Her eyes were a softer brown. Not something he'd seen before and that was one thing he noticed first on a girl. Her eyes. Then as he studied her face more, he saw some red creeping up her cheeks. A hint of a blush? He was definatly going in the right direction. Dropping his gaze from hers, he kept the smile. She wasn't shy either. There was no girlish giggle, not playing coy right off the back. Perhaps Tiffany, Cherry and Mikayla would have to wait. "So, Roxy." He looked up, flashing the grin. "Any particular reason you are sitting alone, at this table, in a bar crowded with a large amount of fabulous men?" Sure he may have been in that category, but no need to be cocky. "Unless you're chasing them all away and even then, you'd have to have a good reason to chase them away." A waitress came over and he looked up at her. She asked if they wanted anything. Tyler turned his head to look at her. "What are you drinking?"

Roxy made eye contact with Tyler, and chuckled a little as she slid further up the chair. "No, there's no particular reason that I'm sitting here by myself. Or that I was sitting here by myself." she said with a playful smirk as she brushed her hair out of her face again. Roxy just went to the bar to drink a couple of beers, read up on the possible ghoul case, and take a load off. Men had approached her with cheap pick-up lines, and Roxy wouldn't have minded that much if the men had been at least semi decent. Most of the men that approached Roxy were either total saps that bored the hell out of her, or men that didn't even hide the face that the only they had on their mind was getting in her pants. "Fabulous men, huh?" Roxy asked with raised eyebrows as she looked around the bar. Three quarters of the men there were no longer sober, and the other fourth probally had girlfriends if not already married. "Tyler, I'm willing to bet that there's only a handful, if not less, fabulous men in this bar." Roxy said as she glanced around the bar once more before she looked back at Tyler. "Judging by your confidence, I'm also willing to bet that one of those few fabulous men is sitting right in front of me." the brunette said with a soft smile before she noticed the bartender. "I'm having a Miller." she answered as she reached for her beer, finishing the last bit of it.

Tyler shrugged with a little grin. Who was he to be cocky? She said it, not him. "Well, I guess you'll have to decide for yourself but yeah, I probably am one of those fabulous men." Watching the waitress walk away after he ordered the same as Roxy, he looked back at her. "But I'm not one to be overly confident." Even though she had just commented on his confidence. Eyes traveled over her again. He was a guy. He couldn't help but check her out. He pointed to the article she had been reading. "So what are you? College student doing research for a journalism class?" It was usually his excuse. People tended to laugh at you or walk away slowly if you just answered 'hunter' casually. And Roxy? Yeah, he had no intention of chasing her off. Though she didn't seem as 'easy', bad description but some girls were, as some women who had approached him tonight. Still, he couldn't deny that his thoughts about Miss Ryan were less than honorable. But why shouldn't they be? It wasn't like he was aiming to marry this girl he met three minutes ago. "I mean if you're struggling in your class and need a tutor... Well I sure as hell didn't take journalism but I never pass up a challenge. I've been told I'm a great study buddy." The waitress brought back two colds ones. "Thanks." He passed Roxy her's and took a drink of his.

Smiling softly, Roxy glanced down at the newspaper article and laughed under her breath. She looked back at him just in time to see his hazel eyes travel across her form. Unlike most of the time, Roxy let this slip by. Mostly because Tyler had made eye contact with her several times already. Every single other guy that had approached her, seemed to either make eye contact with her breasts, or pretend that their napkin fell off if the table, and would pick it up, taking a few seconds to stare at her legs. "Well, Tyler, even if you're not overly confident, you're doing a hell of a lot better than the other fabulous men in this place." she said with a small grin. As Tyler pointed down to the article that she had been reading, Roxy looked down at it as well. His theory of her being a college student doing research for a journalism class fit in perfectly. That was the story that she was going to give in the first place, but now all Roxy had to say was: "Is it that obvious, or are you some sort of psychic?" she asked with a smile as she looked up from the article. Well, she couldn't just come out and say that she was a hunter of everything that he grew up to believe never existed. Roxy would sound like some sort of escapee from a mental institution if she told him the truth. Now, in most scenarios, lieing to a man you were attracted to, wasn't the best way to start things off. Who was to say that anything would become serious out of this? Roxy knew that nothing would, and the fact that she knew she would long gone out of this town in a few days made her positive. "I'm not really struggling... just going over a huge hill." Roxy said with a heavy sigh as she ran a hand through her hair. "You would really go out of your way to help me?" she asked, a smirk slowly spreading across her lips as she rested her hands on the table. "Oh, and you're a great study buddy..." Roxy said, the smirk spreading further along her lips. "You wouldn't have happen to have a resume on you, would you?" the brunette asked jokingly. She smiled at the waitress brought them their beers. "Thanks." Roxy said to Tyler as he handed her the beer. She smiled softly and brought the bottle to her lips, taking a sip of it.

Tyler turned the bottle around on the table, staring at it with a little smile. His resume for being a great study buddy? He could give up a few phone numbers of past hook-ups and maybe they would vouch for him. Course, she may have been thinking he really knew something about studing. Taking another sip, she looked back up at him, brow arched. "No resume. Sorry. Probably have one back at the hotel. I mean if you aren't doing anything later you can check it out and maybe hire me. That is, if you really do need help." Grinning with the bottle to his lips, he put the bottle back down on the table. Wrapping his arms around the chair back, he leaned foreward a bit more. Eyes scanned over the crowd of people around them. Drunks hanging off of women, people hustling pool in one corner. With all the hunting, he felt at home in bars like this because he was so use to be there. And with the bars came the number of women he left behind every morning or so. Looking back at Roxy, he inquired more about her article. "So do schools have you do reports on bizzare deaths often? I mean, unless you're studying to be some kind of crime specialist. A spy lady?" He chuckled at the idea. When his eyes caught her smilng, it just made him smile more. Sitting back, hands on the back of the chair, he reached for the beer to take another drink. "Those would be my guesses. Or else your just some kind of closest freak and really enjoy the dark realm of mysterious deaths." He joked.

Roxy wasn’t surprised that Tyler hadn’t had a so called resume on him. She wouldn’t have been surprised in the least if he would have nodded to any attractive around them and tell Roxy to ask her how good of a “study buddy” he actually was. Roxy chuckled softly to herself at the thought. Reaching for the bottle, she brought it to her lips, and took a couple of sips before placing it down on the table. “Oh, too bad.” Roxy said with a slight fake frown. She nearly choked on the beer as Tyler had just invited her back to his hotel room. Roxy knew that she should have seen that coming. Especially with the way the whole leaving his resume in the room had fit perfectly with his plan. “Did you just come up with that?” she asked with curiosity as she leaned forward a bit more. “I don’t know. I’ll have to check my planner.” Roxy said with a playful smirk as she tapped her chin jokingly. Yeah, like a woman like Roxy with actually carry around a planner. She was the type of who liked to live her life one day at a time, and not have any expectations. “Do I really look like Nancy Drew that much?” Roxy asked with pretend incredulousness when Tyler had inquired her about being a spy lady. “Not always. This is the first time that we get to anything a little… fun. Usually it’s just random stuff that they have us write about. Like why we think the sky is blue and grass is green.” She said with a sigh of exasperation. “This definitely beats writing about guys. Well, they’re , but we get to do a little research and ask around on we think really happened.” Roxy said as she took a quick glance around the bar before looking at Tyler.

Watching her for a moment, a crazy idea came to him. Sure, maybe he was thinking of some way to invite her home but he actually felt like helping as well. Reaching out, he took the article away from her. Yep, the was the same one. Hazel orbs scanned over it, like he was really reading it. But in all honesty, he practically had it memorized. Laughing a little, he gave it back to her. "Yes I did." He stated about her questioning his line. "I'm just oh so smooth like that." Grinning, he pointed to her article. "If it's research that you need, I actually have some information on that. Might impress your professor, more than what you would dig up in the library." Grasping his bottle, he took a few swigs and looked back at her. "That is, unless you'd rather lounge around here instead of enjoying the pleasure of my company and resources." He then added, "I promise I don't bite hard." Hopefully she was one of those students who liked to rise above the class. This wasn't taking advantage of her, hell, this was damn generous of him to offer up information. Hunter's always came up with the best details and info. Pushing away from the table, he stood up from the chair. With one hand, he spun it around and slid it back under the table. "The offer's good until about 30 seconds from now," He informed her. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he held out his hands. "What's there to lose?"

Roxy laughed at his reply to her inquiry about his line. “Really? I guess you’ll have to prove it to me a bit more.” she said with a smirk as she took the article clipping. Reaching down, she unzipped her backpack, and slipped it in, careful to not rip or squash it in any sort of way. Roxy got back into her seat and reached for her beer, and took a few swigs before once again, placing it back on the table. For a few seconds, Roxy debated whether Tyler was going to help her with her “report”, or just try and charm her into letting him get a one night stand. Sighing softly, she sucked on the inside of her cheek, and tapped her fingers on the table. “You’ve brought up pretty good points. You’re about me probably being able to find nothing out at the library, and it’s never too late to become a teacher’s pet.” Roxy couldn’t help but give a little smirk at this. “Hmm… you’re precious company or I could just lounge around here. I don’t know…” she bit her bottom lip, and looked up at the ceiling as if she was pondering, even though she had her mind made up. Reaching down for her backpack, Roxy stood up as well, and pushed the chair in. “30 seconds? You expect me to make my mind up in-“ she glanced down at her watch. “22 seconds?” Roxy reached for her beer and finished the rest of it off. “I have one question, does the place you’re staying have air conditioning?” she asked with a smile as she grabbed her backpack, and slung it over her shoulder since she was planning on leaving with him.

Smirking, he started walking around the table. So many comments came to mind when she mentioned air conditioning. Should he behave and be the gentleman he isn't? Of course not. Ducking his head down, he tried not to make eye contact with her. "Well," Walking over to her side, he waited for her to get ready. She followed his lead, wearing her backpack now and he looked up at her. "I think it works well enough to take care of any heat that may rise. So we're covered." Stepping back, he held out his arm, pointing towards the door. "After you." It may have seemed like a kind gesture, but why pass up the oppurtunity to check her out from behind. As she stepped past him, he kept the smirk and followed her to the door. Now the real question was who's vehical to take. Of course he'd love it to be his. It would take away the chase of her trying to make a get away. So he followed her to the bar entrance, held the door open for her to slip out and then stepped into the cool night. "Any objections to taking my ride? I promise to have you back when you need to be." He looked over at her, grinning. Not waiting for much of an answer, he started walking towards the large black truck. He'd seen one that looked like it before, but never met the owner. His differed because of the dark blue and silver tribal designs down the sides and over the rear wheel wells. "Hell, I even have a great driving record."

She couldn’t help but smirk and chuckle softly at his comment about the air conditioning. “Well, then… I’m glad that we’ll be prepared.” Roxy said her smirk turning quite playful as she turned to look at him. She knew exactly what he meant by “any heat that may rise”, but didn’t press anything any further. Who knew? Maybe tonight would be a lucky night, and Roxy would get what she had been craving for a long time. And as for Tyler… she was very interested and attracted to him. So far. Roxy knew this move too well; holding the door open for the woman, and seem like a complete gentleman for doing so. Even though Roxy was looking at Tyler, she could feel his eyes burning along that back her body. She wouldn’t have been surprised if he was using his imagination to do the same to her front. “Are you coming, or am I going to have to go by myself?” she asked as she turned, placing one hand on her hip, looking back at Tyler. “None whatsoever,” the brunette said with grin as she looked up at him. Looking to her left, she took a quick look at her Mustang, and sighed softly. This was the first time in a long time that Roxy had decided to leave her behind, to go home with this completely gorgeous guy. “Nice truck,” Roxy commented as she walked up to his truck, skimming her fingers professionally along the side of it. “And you have a great driving record?” she asked with raised eyebrows as she walked towards the passenger side of the truck.

Hands dug into both pockets, searching for his keys. There was a jingle and he brought them out of his pocket. Grinning, he waved them at Roxy and proceeded to unlock his door. There was enough items of value in the glove box, behind and under the seats, that he tended to lock up often. Sliding over to her door, he pulled his shut at the same time of popping open her lock. "Make that an excellent record. Cops can't give you tickets if they don't catch you." Sliding back to his side, he started up the truck, which roared to life and then settled to a deep purr. Putting an arm over the back of the seat, he turned to watch himself back out. "So I saw you eyeing that mustang out there," Throwing the truck back into drive, he pulled foreward and headed out of the parking lot. "Please tell me that isn't yours. I've never met a hot chick who in turn, drives a hot car." So much for a subtle compliment. In a few short moments, they were on the main street back to his hotel. Tyler couldn't keep the grin off his face. There was no doubt he would be taking someone back tonight, but he had no idea he would end up this lucky. Then again, she should be thinking the same thing. Glancing over at her, he took a brief moment to take in all her looks; curves and all. Looking back at the road, he reached out to flip on the radio. "You're not going to object to any kind of rock music are you? Old and new." Turning the volume up, as soon as the station came on, music poured through the speakers. Nothing loud, though he was proud of the sound system he installed two years ago. Just some Red Hot Chili Pepper's song, breaking the silence between them as he waited for her answer. Sounded like it was half-way through 'Scar Tissue'.
